As a final project for the Georgia 4-H Technology & Communications Team, the Capture Your County 4-H Photo Contest is being coordinated “for 4-H’ers, by 4-H’ers.” This is not to be confused with the annual Georgia 4-H Photography Contest. This one-time opportunity encourages 4-H youth in grades 4-12 (for the 2020-21 year) to share one photo that best represents their county … from the mountains to city to coastal plain to sea, each county is unique and can be represented in a variety of ways!

- Each 4-H member may only submit one photo. The photo should best represent Gordon County.
- Email the photo to Mrs. Allie at allie.griner@uga.edu.
- Identifiers (name, county, etc.) will be removed before being judged.
- Awards (certificates) will be presented to the first, second, and third place photos in each age division of Cloverleaf (4th-6th grade), Junior (7th-8th grade), and Senior (9th-12th grade).
- Photos will be judged using the following criteria:
- What does the image show about the county?
- What is depicted in the image?
- What describes the photo?
- How is the photo composed?
- What kind of visual representation is there?
- Is the quality of the photo high?
- What aspects* of the photo makes it pop?
- What does the overall picture say about the county?
*Aspects include view point, composition, color balance, contrast, lighting, concept, and perspective.
- Photos should be emailed by: July 30, 2021 at 5:00pm EDT. Results will be announced on/before August 31, 2021.
