It is once again time for the Georgia 4-H Pumpkin Growing Contest sponsored by the Georgia Fruits and Vegetables Growers Association.  This contest offers 4-H’ers a chance to learn skills of farm management, along with initiative, self-reliance, and preparation skills.  We are happy to announce this competition is now open, and 4-H’ers are encouraged to begin preparing to grow their largest pumpkins. This contest is open to all 4-H’ers, kindergarten through 12th grade.

We have free Dill’s Atlantic Giant pumpkin seeds at the Gordon County 4-H Office for anyone who wants to come get some and plant their own pumpkin. Register for the pumpkin growing contest at this link. Final weights will be due in October, but register now to receive free seeds and receive information about entering your pumpkin in the contest later this year.
