A website from UGA Cooperative Extension

There is a group of Cobb County 4-H’ers that have been diligently working on a service project to compile a cookbook of family favorite recipes to help raise money to send deserving Northwest District 4-H’ers to camp in 2021. This project idea started before COVID-19, but with all that is going on, this has inspired this group of four to work even harder to make this happen! Please help these 4-H’ers by submitting a recipe to help us compile the cookbook entitled “Dining with the District-Northwest Edition…Get a Taste of 4-H!” While summer 2020 may look different this year but we are bound and determined to be ready to send as many kids as we can from Northwest District to camp through funds raised from this project in 2021!

Note from Cobb County 4-H’ers: Many 4-Her’s enjoy going to 4-H summer camp as they get to spend a week with their friends and have a good time. Summer camp is a favorite of many 4-Her’s, and we want to help make that fun experience available to all. Unfortunately, some children are not able to attend summer camp because they cannot afford to go. We wanted to start a project to help provide the fun experience of summer camp to as many 4-Her’s as we can. We decided to create a cookbook. 4-Her’s from across the Northwest District will be able to submit recipes that they want to share with everyone. Recipe submissions can include beverages, appetizers, entrées, side dishes, snacks, and desserts. We will sell this cookbook and all of the proceeds will be used to provide camp scholarships to Northwest District 4-Her’s for the summer of 2021. The name of the cookbook will be Dining with the District: Northwest Edition …“Get a Taste of 4-H” Thanks for your submission!
