The Georgia 4-H Communications and Technology Team (Tech Team) is seeking 4-H members for the 2020-2021 year.  The goal of the Tech Team is to increase the use of computer technology in 4-H through various means including videography, photography, podcasting, GIS/GPS, and graphic design.  The team is led by a group of adult staff and collegiate volunteers with a passion for technology education.

The dates for membership in the Georgia 4-H Communications and Technology Team changed from a calendar year (January-December) to the 4-H calendar year (August-July), effective March 2019. As a result, we will use the timeline below for seeking members for the 2020-2021 year.

  • January 21: application period opens
  • April 15: application period closes
  • May 15: Tech Team membership announced
  • August 1: membership year begins

Using this new timeline, we hope the application process won’t interfere with the end of the school year, summer, etc.

Youth in grades 7-12 (for the 2020-2021 school year) are eligible for membership.  Current team members must reapply.  Applications for the 2020-2021 team are available at: https://tinyurl.com/techteamyouth20-21All applications must be completed online using the link above.  Please note that you should discuss the application with Allie Griner, Gordon County 4-H Agent,  prior to submitting.  We encourage 4-H’ers with all levels of technical abilities to apply; they do not need to be an expert with the content.

Current graduating high school seniors are eligible to volunteer with the Tech Team as collegiate leaders.  Similar to youth membership, they must apply by the April 15 deadline at: https://tinyurl.com/techteamcollege20-21.

You can contact Ms. Griner by telephone at 706-629-8685 or by email at allie723@uga.edu.
