A website from UGA Cooperative Extension

Gordon County Extension/4-H will be hosting an in-person hunter safety certification class from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 3. The class will be held at the Gordon County Extension/4-H Office in the Gordon County Agriculture Service Center at 1282 Highway 53 Spur SW in Calhoun. The course is open to the public, but it is preferred that only those age 12 and over take the course. Those who have not graduated high school must be signed in on the day of the class by a parent, but the parent is not required to stay for the full class. As a note, this course is required for 7th-12th grade 4-H archery and shotgun team members prior to participating in a competition.

You must register online for the class by noon on Thursday, January 2 at this link. Each person will have to have a GA DNR account to register, so you may need to create one for yourself or your child. For lunch, you can choose to either provide your own lunch or bring $5 to Gordon County Extension/4-H on the day of the class and a pizza lunch will be provided for you.

For questions about this course, please contact the Gordon County Extension/4-H office at 706-629-8685.
