The inaugural UGA Extension Sheep and Goat Summit was held Friday, March 8th, 2024 at the UGA Livestock Instructional Arena in Athens, GA. More than 80 individuals, sponsors, and educators attended from across Georgia and the Southeast.
Morning lectures included Parasite Management by Dr. Niki Whitley, Fort Valley State University and Forage Management by Savannah Tanner, M.S., UGA Extension Forage Team. Afternoon hands-on rotation options were Hands-On Husbandry with Dr. Lawton Stewart, Zach McCann M.S., and Monte Stephens, M.S., Preparing for a Controlled Breeding Season by Dr. Andrew Weaver, NC State University, and Achieving High-Quality Milk with Dr. Jillian Bohlen and Stephanie Gabriel.
