{"id":1,"date":"2020-07-01T15:23:00","date_gmt":"2020-07-01T19:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/georgia4hscience\/?p=1"},"modified":"2020-07-13T08:07:37","modified_gmt":"2020-07-13T12:07:37","slug":"hello-world","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/georgia4hscience\/2020\/07\/hello-world\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcome"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Since I began this position in March 2019, I&#8217;ve always wanted to host a science and environmental education blog.&nbsp; It gives me a chance to redeem myself from that awful blog I was required to create as part of my Piedmont College 101 class (did anyone really care that I had Calculus homework Tuesday night?), but, perhaps more importantly, it gives me another platform to share about what I love best &#8211; 4-H youth development in the context of science and environmental education.<\/p>\n<p>Each county 4-H program is unique, and a set of packaged programs does not necessarily meet a community\u2019s needs. Based on local interests as well as resources and support, there are a variety of programs and curricula available to support science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) initiatives in Georgia 4-H.&nbsp; Keep in mind that STEM is not just teaching science, technology, engineering, and math.
