Interested in helping scientists know more about where those critters live? We&#8217;ve got just the event for you! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At our Community Science Training event, you&#8217;ll learn about organizations studying wildlife in Atlanta and how you can help through Community Science. Join scientists as we show you the ins and outs of how we study wildlife and how you can too. These trainings will include birds, amphibians, and mammals!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-content-justification-center is-layout-flex wp-container-core-buttons-is-layout-a89b3969 wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-large-font-size has-custom-font-size wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/atlantasciencefestival.org\/events-2026\/1022-critter-quest\/\" style=\"padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40);padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50);padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40);padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50)\">Learn More and Register for Critter Quest<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The first hour will showcase various community science organizations, including information on how you can get involved with their efforts to study wildlife and their habitat in and around Atlanta. The second and third hours are wildlife training activities where you go into the field with local experts to learn how to identify different groups of animals (e.g., birds, reptiles, mammals). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will be able to attend two different training activities, however please plan to arrive at either 2:45 p.m. or 3:45 p.m. in order to partake in these activities. All ages welcome!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Critter Quest is an <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantasciencefestival.org\">Atlanta Science Festival<\/a> event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Event Details<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Sunday, March 15th, 2026<br>2:00 pm \u2013 5:00 pm<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mason Mill Park<br>1400 McConnell Drive<br>Decatur, GA 30033<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Free with <a href=\"https:\/\/scienceatl.app.neoncrm.com\/nx\/portal\/neonevents\/events?path=%2Fportal%2Fevents%2F32137\">registration<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Getting There<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Parking Info<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Free parking is available onsite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Alternative Transportation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The 19 bus goes to Clairmont Rd &amp; Mason Mill Rd, which is a 0.4 mile walk to the park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Accessibility<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This route is on durable surfaces (concrete &amp; boardwalk) the whole time. There are a few places where the grade is slightly above 5%. Trail width is greater than 10 feet and curb cuts provide appropriate transitions between surfaces. Boardwalk railings are 5 feet tall, but gaps between rails allow for obstructed views. Questions if this program will work for your mobility?
