Are you working with a school, community garden, or nonprofit garden this fall? Coast of Maine’s Growing Good Program may be able to help.

Coast of Maine partners with local garden retailers to provide qualifying schools and nonprofit organizations with 10 cubic feet of Coast of Maine organic soil. It’s a simple way to help gardens get established, refresh raised beds, prepare for fall planting, or get ready for next spring.

Our North Fulton Community Garden was accepted to the program last month. Coast of Maine arranged the order with a local independent garden center, and all I had to do was pick up 10 bags of organic raised bed mix. They even helped me load them in my truck! We’re planning to use that soil to top off community garden plots as we turn them over for fall plantings.

If you’re volunteering with a school or nonprofit garden—or know one that could use some help—Coast of Maine would love to hear from you. Complete the short application at the link below, and you may get some free soil!
