Examples of available items include azaleas, fruit trees, vegetables, herbs, succulents, perennials, house plants, natives, and pollinator plants. Cash, checks, and credit cards (except AMEX) will be accepted for payment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Proceeds from the plant sale help fund the various extension programs, such as the Fayette Education Garden, the Veterans Memorial Garden, and the Pollinator Trail, which consists of a group of school and community pollinator gardens planted and maintained by Fayette County Master Gardener Extension Volunteers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The mission of the UGA extension is to extend lifelong learning to Georgia citizens through unbiased, research-based education in agriculture, the environment, communities, youth, and families. These beauties have changed and grown so much over the last week. We look forward to releasing the butterflies in the garden in the next couple of weeks once they have completed their life cycle. If you have milkweed, I encourage you to see if you have any cream-colored monarch eggs on the underside of each leaf. Soon you might start seeing your plants disappear as the caterpillars aggressively eat your milkweed plants. This plant invades many types of habitats such as forests, tree canopies, roadsides, wetlands, and disturbed areas. A few characteristics include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Large vines withstems that can grow up to 2 inches in diameter and 80 feet tall.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leaves that are opposite, ovate (occasionally lobed), upper and lower surface rough hairy, and 1.5-2.5 inches long.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>White to yellow flowers that develop in spring-summer in pairs at leaf nodes with five petals (four joined in a banner curving up and one hanging down).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fruit shiny black, round berries on green stalks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eddmaps.org\/species\/subject.cfm?sub=3039\">Japanese honeysuckle, golden honeysuckle vine (Lonicera japonica Thunb.) &#8211; EDDMapS<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are looking for a replacement, consider using Trumpet Honeysuckle (also known as Coral Honeysuckle) (<em>Lonicera sempervirens <\/em>L.), which is native to the eastern half of the United States. This attractive vine has orange-brown exfoliating bark and bright red tubular-shaped flowers. &nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/resources.ipmcenters.org\/view\/index.cfm?sub=13047\">Resource Database &#8211; trumpet honeysuckle Lonicera sempervirens L.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/fayette\/files\/2026\/04\/resource.jpg\" alt=\"Image with text:\nPlant this Coral Honeysuckle (Lonicera sempervirens L.)
