
Southeast Georgia Forestry Field Day on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the UGA Vidalia Onion and Vegetable Research Center (8163 GA-178, Lyons, GA). This program is open to particpants at no cost, and anyone can attend. Participation is limited to the first 75 registrants. Lunch will be served, so please register ahead of time to reserve your plate.
Program Highlights
Participants will hear from UGA and industry experts on current issues and applied research. Topics include:
- Impacts of Multiple Mill Closures on forest markets and land management strategies
- Lowering Loblolly Planting Densities to improve stand quality and delay thinning
- Comparisons of Slash, Longleaf, and Loblolly Pines for wood yields and economic return
- Pine Study Area Tours, featuring active research plots and field demonstrations
Continuing Education Credits (CFE, CLE, and CAT 23) have been applied for.
