Pecan growers from across Georgia and surrounding areas are invited to attend the 2025 Southeast Georgia Pecan Field Day on Wednesday, August 27. The event will be held at J. G. Shuman Farms, located at 338 Chandler Avenue in Reidsville, Georgia. The program will begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 12:00 noon, with a sponsored lunch provided immediately following the field day.

This event is open to all growers who are interested in current pecan research and production practices. Participants will have the opportunity to observe pecan production in a working orchard, hear from University of Georgia Extension specialists, and network with fellow growers and industry representatives. Topics to be covered during the program include:

• 2025 On-Farm Scab Fungicide Trial
• On-site Pre-Emergent Herbicide Plots and Economics
• Entomology Presentation
• Drone Research Update
• Varieties and Orchard Layout

Industry equipment demonstrations will also take place during the morning session.

Private and commercial pesticide license credits will be available to attendees who sign in at the event. Lunch will be provided thanks to the generous support of Chemical Containers, Inc., Orchard Machinery Corporation (OMC), Savage Equipment, and Shiloh Pecan Farms Nursery.
