Citrus growers and industry professionals from across Southeast Georgia are invited to attend the Southeast Citrus Update, taking place on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the Vidalia Onion and Vegetable Research Center (VOVRC), located at 8163 Hwy 178, Lyons, GA 30436. The event begins at 9:30 a.m., and lunch will be served.

Hosted by UGA Extension, this workshop brings together university specialists and Extension staff from both Georgia and Florida to provide timely updates on citrus production, pest and disease management, and current research. The program is designed to help both established and aspiring citrus producers strengthen their operations through science-based recommendations and regional insights.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Disease Control
  • Horticultural Practices
  • Citrus Greening

Welcome and introductions will be provided by Aubrey Shirley, Tattnall County Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent, and Ross Greene, Evans County Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent.

Featured speakers include:

  • Dr. Mary Sutton, UGA Extension Citrus Specialist
  • Dr. Jonathan Oliver, UGA Small Fruit Pathologist
  • Dr. Manjul Dutt, UF Citrus and Subtropical Fruit Breeder
  • Mr. Jake Price, UGA Citrus Agent

Pesticide credits will be available for eligible participants.
