The Georgia Sentinel Landscape Project is offering a cost share program to assist Georgia timber growers. This pilot project aims to increase prescribed burning across the Georgia Sentinel Landscape by providing technical and financial assistance as well as outreach programs to private landowners. You can read more about the project here on the Longleaf Alliance’s website (https://longleafalliance.org/georgia-sentinel-landscape-prescribed-fire/).

As part of this project, a prescribed fire cost-share program is available to private landowners in more than 50 counties who are interested in conducting prescribed burning, creating firebreaks, and obtaining prescribed burn plans. Please see the links below with a flyer and brochure about this project. If anyone is interested in this program please contact Susan French with the Longleaf Alliance or you can contact the Evans County Extension office.
