Feral Swine Eradication Project

I have been given the opportunity to begin a feral swine research project here in Dooly County. Over the next few months we are hoping to find several sites with EXTREME feral swine damage, determine the best methods for eradication on each site, and remove the nuisance animals, documenting each step along the way.

In order to do this, I need help from farmers and landowners to locate suitable sites. Once a site is located, we would need several weeks of access to the site for data collection and removal of the animals.

If you have signs of extreme feral swine damage on your farm or property please email me at jwporter@uga.edu with the following information.

– Your name and farm

– The address and phone number of your farm shop/office

– A description of the damage. Crops affected, amount of damage, etc…

Once I have this information, I’ll get in touch with each of you and we will discuss how the project will proceed.
