The southeast dairy youth retreat is an event dedicated to allowing young people to gather a greater understanding of the dairy industry while building long lasting friendships in agriculture. The 2016 Southeast Dairy Youth Retreat will be hosted by North Carolina Cooperative Extension in Maggie Valley, NC July 10th-14th.
The 2016 event will include numerous dairy workshops, farm visits (Biltmore Jerseys), fun time at Dollywood and Pigeon Forge, as well as numerous opportunities to hang out with youth from other southeastern states! With the registration fee, youth will receive transportation, meals (Sunday night through Thursday morning), lodging (4 youth per room), as well as a ticket to Dollywood. Registration this year is $200. Transportation will be arranged from Athens, GA and youth members will receive more information regarding this following registration.
Each youth registrant is asked to have a “County Coordinator” (FFA Advisor or County Agent) to sign off on their payment form. This is for recognition of their support of the youth member to serve as a Georgia delegate for the retreat.
Below you will find information regarding the retreat. Please read and fill out all forms carefully. Everything is due back to the address on the registration form by May 15th, 2016. No late registrations will be accepted! Also, be on the lookout for partial financial assistance from the Georgia Dairy Youth Foundation.
