I wanted to make y’all aware of two fundraisers for great causes currently going on, both selling delicious Boston Butts at $30 each. See below for details and please consider supporting these efforts.

  1. The Crisp Co Livestock Committee is selling tickets now through Feb 22nd in support of the Crisp Co Jr Steer and Barrow Show. Pick-up will be at the Farm Bureau, 3-6p on Fri, Feb 26th. Keith-A-Que in Ashburn is cooking the meat. Please seek selling 4-H and FFA exhibitors or reach out to a board member (or me, Josh, at 229-417-7062) if you’re interested in purchasing.

2. Sarah and Alli Blackwell were both registered to show hogs at last year’s Crisp Co Livestock show. Sadly, Sarah was in the hospital during the event and passed away just days later. Her family is forming a scholarship fund in Sarah’s name and selling tickets for proceeds. See below for more details, republished from Pamela Blackwell’s Facebook with permission from a family member (Tammera Sears):

“As everyone knows Sarah Blackwell would be graduating this year with the class of 2021. She was so proud of this class of how close they all were and loved each and every person. We would love to help her friends starting this year and years to come by helping them with scholarships. Please.. help us do what Sarah would want by helping others, (which is what she loved to do). It’s another one of our ways of keeping her memory alive. Even if you don’t want to purchase a butt we would love donations as well. Thank you all in advance.”
