This was a cotton field over 150 years ago.  Rows were formed with no attention to runoff and erosion. Today its Providence Canyon (a result of severe soil erosion) over in Stewart County. I had the privilege of knowing a retired farmer (living in downtown Morris, GA) who was paid by the government to plant a new plant (Kudzu) there to help prevent further erosion in the canyons.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-x-large-font-size\">Seed Variety Selections<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UGA&#8217;s SWVT (statewide variety testing) is an extremely valuable tool for those trying to determine what varieties to plant.  You&#8217;ll find 10 years worth of data related to variety performance.
