I had the opportunity to visit Providence Canyon as part of an annual statewide county agent meeting last week. This was a cotton field over 150 years ago. Rows were formed with no attention to runoff and erosion. Today its Providence Canyon (a result of severe soil erosion) over in Stewart County. I had the privilege of knowing a retired farmer (living in downtown Morris, GA) who was paid by the government to plant a new plant (Kudzu) there to help prevent further erosion in the canyons.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
