When to start a fungicide application &#8211; when about 20% of field has tasseled.  Southern Corn rust has been found in Grady and Wayne County as of June 2. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\"><li>&#8220;Single mode-of-action products like Tebuconazole, Quadris, and Domark\u00a0 are &#8220;good&#8221; but have a two-week protective window.<\/li><li>Mixed mode of action products like Stratego YLD, Aproach Prima, Delaro, and a number of other fungicides have better efficacy and a three-week protective window than do single mode of action products.\u00a0 Product like these work well, especially when risk is heightened but fields are spray before rust is established in a field.<\/li><li>&#8220;Which fungicide is best for rust on corn?&#8221;\u00a0 All mixed mode of action products work BEST and often WELL when sprayed early ahead of disease infection and development.\u00a0 It is my experience that the products that have the biggest impact on southern corn rust are Trivapro, Headline AMP and Veltyma.\u00a0 They tend to look very good in my trials when rust is particularly severe; all fungicides can perform well when applied ahead of disease.&#8221;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"837\" height=\"668\" src=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/cook\/files\/2022\/06\/image.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1001\" srcset=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/cook\/files\/2022\/06\/image.png 837w, https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/cook\/files\/2022\/06\/image-300x239.png 300w, https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/cook\/files\/2022\/06\/image-768x613.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 837px) 100vw, 837px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"840\" height=\"908\" src=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/cook\/files\/2022\/06\/image-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1002\" srcset=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/cook\/files\/2022\/06\/image-1.png 840w, https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/cook\/files\/2022\/06\/image-1-278x300.png 278w, https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/cook\/files\/2022\/06\/image-1-768x830.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 840px) 100vw, 840px\" \/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Below are some notes from Kemeriat (UGA plant disease specialist).
