Cook Extension Winter Ag Production Meetings

Cook County Extension has planned its annual winter agriculture production meetings.  All meetings will be conducted live and in person at the Cook Extension Office. Pesticide credits will be available. UGA Extension Specialists will present the latest production information. 

2022 Ag Extension Production Meetings:

Pecan Production Meeting. January 27. 12 Noon.

Cotton Production Meeting. January 31. 12 Noon

Peanut Production Meeting. March 8. 8:30 AM.

Watermelon Production Meeting. March 18. 12 Noon.

Grafted Watermelon Seedling Trial Results

This is from a trial conducted last spring in two fields in North Cook County. Both fields with a known fusarium histories. Trial was a collaboration with Dr. Bhabesh Dutta – UGA Vegetable Disease Specialist. “Carolina Strongback” which is a citron, was the rootstock. Fascination and SP6 were the seedless plants and pollinizers respectively. Below is only a summary. Call me if you want more detailed information on this trial. Plans are to conduct this same trial in 2022.
