“Where’d the Fish in My Pond Go?”

On a recent pond visit with UGA Extension Aquaculture Specialist Dr. Gary Burtle we discovered these tracks. It most likely answered the question of what happened to the fish in the pond.  Otters can greatly reduced fish populations in a pond and leave long before the pond owner knows there is a problem.  These nocturnal carnivores will hop from pond to pond over a large area in a relatively short amount of time making them hard to detect.
