Two weeks after planting, the mustard has begun to show purple color. The wave it was planted in is really beginning to show up. The coleus and sweet potato vines are slow to fill out, but our cooler fall temperatures are slowing them down.

As I watered the garden, I noticed all kinds of beneficial insects. Ladybugs and their larvae were abundant, and I saw a lovely walking stick (though it wouldn’t pose for a picture!). This signaled to me that I had OTHER insect activity, though I didn’t see it right away.

I was delighted so see these beneficial insects. I left the garden alone, but continued to water, watch, and observe.
