Below are some images to illustrate the symptoms:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/colquittag\/files\/2014\/10\/powdery2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-594\" src=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/colquittag\/files\/2014\/10\/powdery2-168x300.jpg\" alt=\"powdery2\" width=\"168\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/colquittag\/files\/2014\/10\/powdery2-168x300.jpg 168w, https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/colquittag\/files\/2014\/10\/powdery2-77x138.jpg 77w, https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/colquittag\/files\/2014\/10\/powdery2.jpg 576w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 168px) 100vw, 168px\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/colquittag\/files\/2014\/10\/powdery1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-597\" src=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/colquittag\/files\/2014\/10\/powdery1-168x300.jpg\" alt=\"powdery1\" width=\"168\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/colquittag\/files\/2014\/10\/powdery1-168x300.jpg 168w, https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/colquittag\/files\/2014\/10\/powdery1-77x138.jpg 77w, https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/colquittag\/files\/2014\/10\/powdery1.jpg 576w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 168px) 100vw, 168px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A good spray program for powdery mildew in squash would be Torino rotated with Procure or Proline.<\/p>\n<p>Proline is a new product by Bayer that provides effective control of powdery mildew, anthracnose, gummy stem, and fusarium.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To no ones surprise I am seeing a lot of silverleaf as well. <\/strong>Silverleaf is a physiological disorder that occurs as a result of whitefly feeding on the underside of leaves. See pictures below:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/colquittag\/files\/2014\/10\/whitefly1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-598 \" src=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/colquittag\/files\/2014\/10\/whitefly1-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"whitefly1\" width=\"266\" height=\"149\" srcset=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/colquittag\/files\/2014\/10\/whitefly1-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/colquittag\/files\/2014\/10\/whitefly1-245x138.jpg 245w, https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/colquittag\/files\/2014\/10\/whitefly1.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 266px) 100vw, 266px\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/colquittag\/files\/2014\/10\/silverleaf.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-599\" src=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/colquittag\/files\/2014\/10\/silverleaf-168x300.jpg\" alt=\"silverleaf\" width=\"168\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/colquittag\/files\/2014\/10\/silverleaf-168x300.jpg 168w, https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/colquittag\/files\/2014\/10\/silverleaf-77x138.jpg 77w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 168px) 100vw, 168px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Neonicotinoids in general control whiteflies. Venom (dinotefuron) has shown better efficacy than some other neonicotinoids. Rotate Venom with a different mode of action such as Coragen (chlorantraniliprole).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Downy Mildew on Cucumbers:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Downy mildew is going around in cucurbits right now, with some possible resistance concerns with\u00a0 Zampro and Ranman. Downy mildew tends to be square shaped because it is bound by the veins and\u00a0 will never cross over the vein.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Potyvirus in Cucumbers:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A potyvirus (papaya ringspot, watermelon mosaic, or zucchini yellow mosaic virus)\u00a0 was confirmed in a cucumber field last week. Potyvirus is introduced by aphids. Aphids carry the virus passively on their mouth parts and infect plants when they feed. Even undetectable populations of aphids can infect an entire field with a potyvirus. Insecticides are non-effective in controlling the spread of the virus because they are unable to kill aphids before they have acquired and transmitted the virus. The incidence of these viruses is unpredictable between years and locations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Flea Beetles on Eggplants:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Eggplants are typically pest free, however, one pest we can count on to arrive are flea beetles.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/colquittag\/files\/2014\/10\/flea-beetle.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-609\" src=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/colquittag\/files\/2014\/10\/flea-beetle-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"flea beetle\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" srcset=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/colquittag\/files\/2014\/10\/flea-beetle-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/colquittag\/files\/2014\/10\/flea-beetle-245x138.jpg 245w, https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/colquittag\/files\/2014\/10\/flea-beetle.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Historically pyrethroids would take care flea beetles, however, recently we have seen reduced efficacy. Nevertheless, your best option remains a pyrethroid.
