Make plans now to attend the 38th Annual Georgia Peanut Farm\u00a0 Show and Conference scheduled for Thursday, January 16, 2014, at the University\u00a0 of Georgia Tifton Campus Conference Center in Tifton, Ga. The one-day show is\u00a0 open to all farmers and industry representatives and free to attendees.<\/p>\n
Peanut farmers will have the\u00a0 opportunity to visit with more than 90 agribusinesses and organizations in the\u00a0 peanut industry. Also, farmers are able to earn private and commercial\u00a0 pesticide applicators certification and learn up-to-date knowledge on cutting\u00a0 edge research and developments during the University of Georgia Peanut\u00a0 Production Seminar and the industry-wide sponsored Peanut Seed Seminar.<\/p>\n
Farm Show Chairman Rodney Dawson is\u00a0 optimistic about the 1,500 plus farmers estimated to be in attendance. \u201cI\u00a0 encourage farmers to leave their fields and attend this one day show and\u00a0 conference because the information they will receive is an investment in their\u00a0 future. There is definitely a lot of knowledge to be gained at the show,\u201d\u00a0 Dawson says.<\/p>\n
At the close\u00a0 of the day, there will be $40,000 in prizes presented to farmers for the Grand\u00a0 Door Prize, vendor products, certificates, and equipment.\u00a0 Donors include Kelley Manufacturing Co. and AMADAS Industries.<\/p>\n
