{"id":1592,"date":"2017-08-23T15:51:41","date_gmt":"2017-08-23T19:51:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/colquittag\/?p=1592"},"modified":"2017-11-15T10:08:07","modified_gmt":"2017-11-15T15:08:07","slug":"peanut-maturity-clinics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/colquittag\/2017\/08\/peanut-maturity-clinics\/","title":{"rendered":"Peanut Maturity Clinics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Peanut Maturity Clinics!!<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Colquitt County Extension will\u00a0be offering peanut maturity clinics beginning this Friday, August 25, 2017 until the end of September.\u00a0The clinics\u00a0will be offered Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from\u00a08:30 AM to 10:30 AM and will be held at the Colquitt County Extension office.\u00a0 If you need any peanuts done earlier please let me know.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Taking a good sample is CRUCIAL in determining the proper time to dig, so here is a reminder of how to pull a sample for profiling peanut maturity. A peanut hull scrape maturity check will be as accurate as the sample that you take.\u00a0 Pull or dig up at least 5 to 6 adjacent plants from at least three representative parts of a field which can be dug in on day.\u00a0 Keep these samples from each area of the field separate.\u00a0 Pick ALL the peanuts off the plants until you get around 200 peanuts (a sample should contain between 180 and 220 peanut pods).\u00a0 Pick the vine clean.\u00a0 If it will be a while before you can bring the sample then pick off the sample and keep the peanuts in a bucket of water to keep them fresh.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Peanut Maturity Clinics!!
