{"id":1273,"date":"2016-04-19T10:34:54","date_gmt":"2016-04-19T14:34:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/colquittag\/?p=1273"},"modified":"2016-04-19T10:49:31","modified_gmt":"2016-04-19T14:49:31","slug":"1273","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/colquittag\/2016\/04\/1273\/","title":{"rendered":"Update on Vegetable Diseases Confirmed in Colquitt County"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Over the last two weeks, we have sent many samples to Tifton&#8217;s UGA diagnostic lab.\u00a0 So far several cases of <em>Phytophthora capsici<\/em> have been confirmed on squash and peppers in Colquitt County, as well as, <em>Pythium spp.<\/em> on watermelons and \u00a0<em>pseudomonas<\/em> (Bacterial leaf spot) on collards. \u00a0\u00a0The wet weather conditions have been conducive for these diseases among vegetable crops.\u00a0 Keep a look out for these diseases in your fields. \u00a0Below are pictures\u00a0of the disease symptoms we have seen on the samples that were\u00a0sent to the diagnostic lab. \u00a0 Also, I attached the UGA&#8217; s 2016 fungicide spray guides for watermelon, squash, and peppers.
