damage mainly power outages and downed trees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The preliminary damage reports of Hermine&#8217;s passage through the Southeast show that the majority of the damage was due to power outages and downed trees, with a few reports of isolated tornadoes. \u00a0<em>Online Athens<\/em> reported that over 107,000 homes in Georgia and an estimated 325,000 people in Florida lost power during the storm&#8217;s passage but that damage generally was less than expected. \u00a0Rainfall amounts were also lower than predicted in many areas. \u00a0You can read their report at\u00a0<a Carr in the <em>WunderBlog<\/em> noted that one surfer was missing in South Carolina but that no other deaths had been reported. \u00a0They provide additional stories about storm damage at\u00a0<a Packer<\/em> noted that the timing of the storm prevented a lot of damage to many crops, which are normally harvested in mid-September or later. \u00a0Heavy rainfall did flood many fields of newly
