{"id":7039,"date":"2016-05-13T10:00:14","date_gmt":"2016-05-13T14:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/climate\/?p=7039"},"modified":"2016-05-13T10:00:14","modified_gmt":"2016-05-13T14:00:14","slug":"xmacis-provides-access-to-historical-climate-data","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/climate\/2016\/05\/xmacis-provides-access-to-historical-climate-data\/","title":{"rendered":"xmACIS provides access to historical climate data"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In addition to the data access site <a href=\"https:\/\/mrcc.isws.illinois.edu\/CLIMATE\/\">cli-MATE<\/a> from the Midwestern Regional Climate Center, there is another web site which provides access to the National Weather Service&#8217;s cooperative weather observing network. \u00a0It&#8217;s called xmACIS and contains a lot of the same information as the cli-MATE site (in fact, it&#8217;s built on the same datasets). \u00a0You can access it at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/xmacis.rcc-acis.org\/\">https:\/\/xmacis.rcc-acis.org\/<\/a>. \u00a0Unlike cli-MATE, it does not require a log-in.<\/p>\n<p>xmACIS has data for all over the country, but it&#8217;s\u00a0a bit tricky to use. First, pick &#8220;Single Station&#8221; &#8220;Graphs&#8221; &#8220;Accumulation.&#8221; \u00a0Then you need to set a time frame under options. Finally, you will choose a location.
