{"id":5598,"date":"2016-01-05T12:02:34","date_gmt":"2016-01-05T17:02:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/climate\/?p=5598"},"modified":"2016-01-05T12:02:34","modified_gmt":"2016-01-05T17:02:34","slug":"how-does-the-solar-output-affect-climate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/climate\/2016\/01\/how-does-the-solar-output-affect-climate\/","title":{"rendered":"How does the solar output affect climate?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of the comments I often hear from people who are dubious about a warming climate is that the change is occurring naturally due to increases in the sun&#8217;s output. \u00a0But is this really true?<\/p>\n<p>We do know that solar output is a factor in long-term changes in climate. \u00a0For example, the wax and wane of ice ages has been linked to small changes in the amount of sunlight received on earth due to changes in Earth&#8217;s orbit around the sun.
