{"id":4073,"date":"2015-08-19T22:40:43","date_gmt":"2015-08-20T02:40:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/climate\/?p=4073"},"modified":"2015-08-19T22:40:43","modified_gmt":"2015-08-20T02:40:43","slug":"august-2015-running-slightly-warmer-and-wetter-than-normal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/climate\/2015\/08\/august-2015-running-slightly-warmer-and-wetter-than-normal\/","title":{"rendered":"August 2015 running slightly warmer and wetter than normal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s just past halfway through August. \u00a0So far for the month, most of the Southeast is running about a degree above normal, although there are areas with below normal temperatures. \u00a0Precipitation is highest in Florida followed by Georgia and then Alabama. \u00a0The Carolinas are the driest part of the Southeast\u00a0and that is where drought has expanded in the last few weeks. \u00a0These maps as usual are from the High Plains Regional Climate Center at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hprcc.unl.edu\/maps\/current\/\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/www.hprcc.unl.edu\/maps\/current\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The outlook for the rest of the month is for wet conditions to continue for the next couple of days before warmer and drier than normal conditions set in for the next few weeks.
