{"id":4041,"date":"2015-08-16T19:50:14","date_gmt":"2015-08-16T23:50:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/climate\/?p=4041"},"modified":"2015-08-16T19:50:14","modified_gmt":"2015-08-16T23:50:14","slug":"tropical-atlantic-ocean-shows-some-signs-of-activity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/climate\/2015\/08\/tropical-atlantic-ocean-shows-some-signs-of-activity\/","title":{"rendered":"Tropical Atlantic Ocean shows some signs of activity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As we head into what is usually the most active time of the year for tropical storms in the Atlantic basin, a wave that recently moved off the coast of Africa is now showing some signs of development. \u00a0The National Hurricane Center&#8217;s 5-day tropical outlook map now shows a 60 percent chance of cyclone formation for this system. \u00a0This is the prime area for tropical storm development in August and leads to the term &#8220;Cape Verde storms&#8221;
