But there have been other severe droughts as well, such as the 1954 drought. One of the worst on record for Georgia was the 1925-1927 drought, but there were far fewer stream and rain gauges then so it is difficult to compare. So I was interested to read <a href=\"https:\/\/climate.ncsu.edu\/blog\/2026\/04\/a-century-old-drought-offers-parallels-to-today\/\">this analysis looking back at the 1925-1927 drought<\/a> from the eyes of the North Carolina State Climate Office&#8217;s Corey Davis.
