I like to recommend weather-related books like “Isaac’s Storm” and see that there are many listed if you search for “weather books” on Amazon or other bookseller sites. You can also check out this list put together by my friend Alicia Wasula: https://www.stmweather.com/blog/an-updated-gift-guide-for-weather-enthusiasts. As she points out, you can never go wrong with a NOAA weather radio to get severe storm warnings either! And if you have yard space, a CoCoRaHS rain gauge is a great place to start doing citizen science. They sell rain gauges as well as provide a lot of information at https://www.cocorahs.org/. If you are even more serious about observing weather, you should consider joining Weather Underground and purchasing a weather station. They have a list of stations on their website at https://www.wunderground.com/pws/buying-guide. Or if you just like to look at clouds, a membership to the Cloud Appreciation Society might be a nice gift.
