than normal wildfire potential through August due to wet spring"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The National Interagency Fire Center has issued their May outlook for wildfire possibilities across the United States this week. \u00a0The report shows that the Southeast has a lower than normal chance for wildfires this year due to the current wet conditions coupled with the presence of the El Nino, which is expected to last for the next few months. \u00a0By comparison, the potential for wildfires in the western US is higher than usual due to the continuing drought and lack of snowpack in those
