And of course it&#8217;s too early to count out more snow this year, since the Southeast can get snowstorms well into March. Here is a <a href=\"https:\/\/earthsky.org\/earth\/how-do-snowflakes-get-their-shape\/?mc_cid=be3e8e9759&amp;mc_eid=b22da16cce\">recent story<\/a> from <em>EarthSky<\/em> that describes the different shapes of snowflakes and what causes them to form differently under specific properties of temperature and humidity in the atmosphere.
