This has been a more common problem in the Southeast where we already have to deal with high temperature and humidity, but as temperatures get warmer across the country over time, impacts of fungal diseases and other factors that negatively impact crops are becoming more common everywhere. Producers in the Midwest will need to learn from farmers in the Southeast and other similar areas how to protect against these problems in the future.
