I think that an unfavorable atmosphere dominated by a lot of dust off of Africa has tamped things down so far, although that may be ending. Here is a <a href=\"https:\/\/weather.com\/storms\/hurricane\/news\/2022-09-13-most-quiet-atlantic-hurricane-seasons?cm_ven=dnt_newsletter_tracking\">good description of other quiet hurricane seasons from <em>Weather.com<\/em><\/a>. Even though we&#8217;ve been pretty quiet this year, there are plenty of other years that had even fewer storms.
