Fortunately, there is some new technology that uses satellite telemetry to help predict the storms&#8217; paths and strength which is being put into use for the first time this year. This should allow better forecasts than in the past, providing more exact information on timing and strength of the storms for emergency managers and other first responders as well as coastal residents.
