{"id":22269,"date":"2021-08-11T21:19:50","date_gmt":"2021-08-12T01:19:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/climate\/?p=22269"},"modified":"2021-08-11T21:19:53","modified_gmt":"2021-08-12T01:19:53","slug":"nidis-launches-new-interactive-maps-on-drought-gov","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/climate\/2021\/08\/nidis-launches-new-interactive-maps-on-drought-gov\/","title":{"rendered":"NIDIS Launches New Interactive Maps on Drought.gov"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table caes-extended-core-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td>NIDIS is pleased to announce two new interactive features on <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/r20.rs6.net\/tn.jsp?f=001doCdV9b9lJ1tT24o0jbbclqGlZQw54KLT4u8FcVu1BINN5N8ULMlHrXAtNVWzCPLl4LeKENqlecQL-U669dqh79MBfaP2gJ4oeMYojqAKCo7dwid0K4Zl7e3GRmJmGSMUuB6dvHEYlg=&amp;c=FkrnzbUA4raC1eEsIm6ZPHVJT2GYbFXJJt1xyEZhvIffq1vT0i-oCg==&amp;ch=zdECslWUDaO473ojzO676LgcctLkEVhSGtqaekAj_Z52UgaKBRXewg==\">Drought.gov<\/a> that will make it easier for decision makers and the public across the U.S. to share timely, reliable drought information.<br><br>First,\u00a0<strong>new customization and sharing options for all maps<\/strong>\u00a0make it easier than ever to create custom, high-quality maps to include in drought or risk mitigation plans, share on social media or in media briefings, communicate with stakeholders, or report on drought impacts across the United States.<br><br>Second,\u00a0<strong>interactive economic sector maps<\/strong>\u00a0that show sector-specific information alongside key drought and climate indicators provide vital information for private and public sector decision makers to monitor, plan for, and mitigate the impacts of drought.<br><br>Together, these new communication tools will help decision makers and the public respond to the current drought, prepare for future drought conditions, and improve the nation\u2019s long-term drought resilience.
