A La Nina winter usually means warmer and drier conditions than usual as the storm track shifts north. Sometimes the summer following a La Nina winter can be dry due to the lack of soil moisture early in the year due to a lack of winter recharge. The La Nina conditions are also expected to contribute to the active hurricane season we are seeing in the Atlantic this year.
