I also saw many flooded farm fields when I drove through northwestern Georgia yesterday. The <em>Atlanta Journal-Constitution<\/em> published an article this week on how water levels in Lake Lanier are running 5 feet above full winter pool, causing flooding along the lake shore and closing many boat landings. Floating debris in the lake has also been a problem for boaters. The US Army Corps of Engineers is trying to lower the lake level slowly without causing flooding downstream on the Chattahoochee River.
