After hurricanes pass through regions, we see images of ships destroyed and abandoned both onshore and in waterways near coastal areas. But what happens to these boats? In many cases, owners just remove identification numbers and leave them, blocking navigation lanes and causing hazards for others. Florida has spent a tremendous amount of money trying to clear out these derelict boats.
