But climate also changes locally, and many of these local changes are due to other human causes such as land use changes. Previously I&#8217;ve linked to articles which discussed the impact of irrigation on local rainfall in the Midwest. This week there is an article in <em>Salon<\/em> which describes the impact on climate when you leave your fields with vegetation cover instead of leaving them bare.
