{"id":1423,"date":"2014-11-26T08:06:32","date_gmt":"2014-11-26T13:06:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/climate\/?p=1423"},"modified":"2021-10-18T11:21:33","modified_gmt":"2021-10-18T15:21:33","slug":"hurricane-season-ending-quietly-as-predicted","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/climate\/2014\/11\/hurricane-season-ending-quietly-as-predicted\/","title":{"rendered":"Hurricane season ending quietly, as predicted"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>November 30 marks the end of the official hurricane season in the North Atlantic Ocean. \u00a0NOAA&#8217;s National Hurricane Center released their summary of the season this week, discussing the relatively weak season and how well it was predicted. \u00a0The lack of tropical storms over the Southeast contributed to the development of dry conditions and severe drought in a few places, since about 30 percent of growing season rainfall comes from tropical systems.
