Three Reasons Not To Be Distracted By The Name Game"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you listen to local media of either party talk about recent trends we have seen in climate, you will notice that some outlets use &#8220;climate change&#8221; to discuss the trends while others use &#8220;global warming&#8221;. Scientists generally prefer &#8220;climate change&#8221; because the changes we are seeing to the climate due to humans, including land use changes from urbanization and agriculture and the increase in carbon dioxide from fossil fuels, are changing the climate in more ways than just temperature. But the warming of the earth as a whole is certainly part of the picture too. Dr. Marshall Shepherd of UGA posted an article this week on <em>Forbes.com<\/em> which explains why you should not get caught up in fighting about the differences.
