She has a new project with several other scientists in the Southeast to study the expansion of irrigation in Alabama.\u00a0 As the article points out, &#8220;In Alabama, only 15 percent of the land currently available for farming is irrigated, a far cry from Mississippi\u2019s 61 percent of cropland and Georgia\u2019s 40 percent.
