{"id":11796,"date":"2017-07-18T11:15:09","date_gmt":"2017-07-18T15:15:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/climate\/?p=11796"},"modified":"2017-07-18T11:22:26","modified_gmt":"2017-07-18T15:22:26","slug":"noaa-cloud-cover-and-the-upcoming-eclipse","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/climate\/2017\/07\/noaa-cloud-cover-and-the-upcoming-eclipse\/","title":{"rendered":"NOAA: Cloud cover and the upcoming eclipse"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you follow the news at all, you are aware of the solar eclipse that will be viewed across the US, including a path of totality that stretches from coastal Oregon to South Carolina. \u00a0But it&#8217;s summer, and you might wonder if clouds will obscure the view.<\/p>\n<p>Just in time, NOAA has produced a cloud cover climatology map which shows what your chances of seeing the eclipse are.
