{"id":11721,"date":"2017-07-10T22:41:48","date_gmt":"2017-07-11T02:41:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/climate\/?p=11721"},"modified":"2017-07-10T22:41:48","modified_gmt":"2017-07-11T02:41:48","slug":"every-solar-eclipse-in-your-lifetime","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/climate\/2017\/07\/every-solar-eclipse-in-your-lifetime\/","title":{"rendered":"Every solar eclipse in your lifetime"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For those of you who aren&#8217;t paying attention, there will be a total solar eclipse passing from west to east over the continental US on August 21.\u00a0 There has been a lot written about this event and\u00a0 many people are planning to go to an area where the sun will be totally hidden by the moon for a few minutes.\u00a0 Here in Athens GA we will be 99.1 percent covered, which means that a small sliver of sun will still remain visible at the height of the eclipse.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve already written some other blog posts on it and will certainly do more as the date approaches.
