{"id":11557,"date":"2017-06-23T22:53:41","date_gmt":"2017-06-24T02:53:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/climate\/?p=11557"},"modified":"2017-06-23T22:53:41","modified_gmt":"2017-06-24T02:53:41","slug":"the-complexity-of-cows","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/climate\/2017\/06\/the-complexity-of-cows\/","title":{"rendered":"The complexity of cows"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the last few days I&#8217;ve seen several interesting stories on different aspects of cattle cross my desk .\u00a0 The first is a story in <em>Wired.com<\/em> about how mathematicians have simulated the behavior of herds of cattle using a computer model.\u00a0 The story describes how the model is set up to include different sizes of cows and discusses how the model shows that herd behavior is driven by conflict between cows who eat fast and those who eat more slowly.
