The latest Drought Monitor, released this morning, shows that there have been slight increases in abnormally dry conditions in Virginia and North Carolina. Thanks to the heavy rains of Irma last weekend, all areas of abnormally dry conditions have been removed from Georgia and South Carolina in this week’s Drought Monitor map. Two small areas remain in North Carolina and Virginia.

This morning’s Drought Monitor shows that while there is no drought in the Southeast this week, abnormally dry conditions expanded slightly in north and central Georgia but decreased in south Georgia as well as Virginia and North Carolina. The region of abnormally dry conditions in South Carolina did not change from last week.

The latest Drought Monitor, released this morning, shows that areas of abnormally dry conditions have developed in parts of Georgia and South Carolina this week. We’ve certainly been dry (until yesterday) in northern Georgia as well. But the rains from the remains of Harvey may reduce or eliminate some of those dry patches this week.

The latest Drought Monitor shows that abnormally dry conditions have now expanded into South Carolina as well as increasing in North Carolina and Virginia. Other areas of Georgia are also quite dry from a long dry spell with little rain, but have not yet reached abnormally dry levels.
